Hostbanter Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 5, 2026
This policy explains how Agensys, a Michigan limited liability company in formation ("we", "us"), PO Box 141, Gaylord, MI 49734, handles information in Hostbanter (the "Service"), a service that prepares suggested replies to Google reviews for restaurant owners. Questions: privacy@hostbanter.com.
Google user data we access
When you connect your Google account, you grant the Service access through Google's OAuth sign-in using the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/business.manage scope. With that access we read:
- Profile data: your Google account name and email address, and the Business Profile accounts you manage;
- Location data: the business locations on those accounts (such as name, address and business information);
- Review data: reviews of your locations (reviewer display name, star rating, review text and date) and existing owner replies.
We do not ask for or store your Google password.
How we use Google user data
We use this data only to provide the Service to you: to show your reviews, prepare suggested replies, and post to Google the replies that you approve (and update or delete replies when you ask us to). Every reply waits for your approval before it is posted. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not use it for any purpose other than providing or improving this user-facing feature.
To prepare suggested replies, review text and your tone settings are sent to an automated text-generation provider acting as our service provider. That provider processes the data only to return a suggestion to us, and we do not permit it to use your data to train or improve general models. The provider receives only the review text and settings needed for the suggestion, not your Google access tokens.
We don't sell your data
We do not sell Google user data or any other personal information. We do not share it with third parties except service providers that help us run the Service (such as hosting, text generation and email) under confidentiality obligations, when you direct us to, or when required by law. We do not transfer Google user data to data brokers or information resellers, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Google API Services User Data Policy and Limited Use
Hostbanter's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
No humans read your Google user data unless you give us permission for a specific item (for example, for support), it is necessary for security purposes or to investigate abuse, it is required by law, or the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
Other information
If you email us (for example, to join the founding restaurants list), we keep your email and message to reply to you. We do not use advertising trackers on these pages.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Google access tokens are stored encrypted, and access is limited to what's needed to run the Service.
Retention and deletion
We keep Google review and location data only as long as needed to provide the Service, and we refresh or delete cached Google content within 30 days. When you disconnect the Service or close your account, we delete your Google access tokens right away and delete your Google user data within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records by law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing privacy@hostbanter.com.
How to revoke access
You can remove the Service's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. You can also email us and we'll disconnect your account. Replies already posted to Google stay on Google unless you delete them there.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell connected users about material changes before they apply.
